Hi to everyone! Well, as you all know I am in Barcelona now and getting here was a big disaster. All Europe is covered with volcanic ash from Iceland, I was supposed to fly on Saturday morning Vienna-Barcelona but all the flights were cancelled. I have a little time to decide what to do. As I'm a poor guy and don't have a car (at the moment) I had to figure out the transport. Well, thank goodness I have a friend Dr. Reiter who works in BMW and helped me out with a car (the only thing was that I could get it only 22.00 on Saturday and not earlier) so I had my B plan almost figured out. The only problem would be that if I have to drive to Barcelona I will have to drive from it to Rome and then back to Bratislava which would be 5500 km in total (not the best solution).
So I asked Mertinak what he was going to do and the best solution appeared. Mertinak was driving his car and he was taking another doubles player Polasek with him so I joined the duo. Believe it or not, but it was quite fun on the road. We started somewhere around 8pm from Bratislava and we had a night stop in Motel just after we passed the turn to Milano. The next day at 10 o'clock we hit the road again.
We arrived to Barcelona sometime at 9pm on Sunday. My body was exhausted and I was happy finally to be in Barcelona. In total our trip lasted 25 hours, 15 hours of driving to cover 1900km. I do have some videos from the trip and will put them on my website shortly. I hope all of you did not need to fly during the last 5 days and you didnt have to spend hours or days in the airports.
