Orleans Challenger: Stako falls in opener

Sergiy suffered a 6-7 (3), 1-6 loss to world no.117 Steve Darcis on Monday in the first round of the Open D'Orleans Challenger. Stako failed to convert any of his four break points. There were no breaks in the opening set, the Belgian won a tie-breaker 7-3. Riding the momentum, Darcis broke twice in the second set to seal the victory in one hour and 22 minutes.

Japan seals third win, confirms WG status

Japan leads Ukraine 2-0 after Day 1 of their Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group play-off tie in Osaka. World no.88 Taro Daniel proved too strong for Sergiy in Friday’s singles opening rubber. Sergiy in Ukraine's DC squad against Japan

Ukraine's captain Mikhail Filima has named team to face Japan away in their Davis Cup World Group play-off tie, taking place in Utsubo Tennis Center, in Osaka, Japan (Hard, Outdoor), on September 16-18. US Open: Sergiy falls to Cilic in R2

Sergiy suffered a 1-6, 2-6, 3-6 defeat to 2014 champion Marin Cilic on Wednesday in the second round action at the US Open. The seventh seed from Croatia broke twice in each set and saved both chances Stako earned during the match that lasted one hour and 39 minutes.
