Sergiy moved into the French Open second round against Tommy Haas after struggling past No. 16 seed Alexandr Dolgopolov in a five-setter carried over from Monday night when the score was two sets all.

American qualifier Brian Baker stunned Sergiy in the first round of the Open de Nice Côte d’Azur tournament on Tuesday, beating him 6-7(2), 6-4, 7-5. Baker converted six of his 14 break point chances to claim victory in two hours and 33 minutes.
With this loss, Sergiy fell to a 8-13 record on the season.
Next up for Stako is the French Open which begins on Sunday. Last year he reached the third round.
Sergiy missed out on a place in the second round of qualifying at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome after losing to No. 2 seed Robin Haase in the first round on Saturday.
Stako dropped serve twice in the first set and responded with only one service break to lose 6-4. He had his chances in the second-set tie-break, but unfortunately it was Haase who held nerve to take it 11-9 and clinch victory in one hour and 48 minutes.
Wildcard American Ryan Harrison edged past Sergiy to book his place in the second round at the Mutua Madrid Open with a 7-6(3), 7-6(5) win on Monday. The battle lasted one hour and 54 minutes.
The players grabbed one break each in the match, with Stako squandering 10 break point chances. It was Harrison who played the clutch points better, coming through two tie-breaks to clinch victory.
The 2012 Madrid Masters is played on indoor clay courts at the Park Manzanares in Madrid, Spain. It is the 10th edition of the event on the ATP classified as an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event. This is the first tournament ever played on blue clay courts.
Sergiy has qualified for the main draw of the Mutua Madrid Open, defeating Frenchman Edouard Roger-Vasselin 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 in one hour and 55 minutes. In the main draw, he will face American Ryan Harrison. In the only previous meeting between the two, Stako beat Harrison 6-3, 5-7, 3-6, 6-3, 7-6(6) in the second round of the US Open in 2010. If he wins, he will play Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the second round.
No. 2 seed Spaniard Feliciano Lopez maintained his excellent clay-court form as he beat Stako 6-4, 7-6(4) on Thirsday in the second round of the BMW Open. The match lasted one hour and 27 minutes. With the loss, Sergiy fell to a 8-11 mark on the season.
Lopez grabbed the only service break of the match in the first set and edged Sergiy in the second-set tie-break to advance to the quarter-finals. The Spaniard has a 5-3 mark on clay this season.
Sergiy downed Germany's Cedric-Marcel Stebe 7-6(3), 6-3 on Tuesday to advance to the second round of the BMW Open in Munich. Stako, making his second appearance at the event, served five aces and broke serve twice from seven opportunities to clinch his 8th victory of the season in one hour and 46 minutes.
He will next face No. 2 seed Feliciano Lopez of Spain. The Spaniard won the only previous meeting between the two.
In doubles, top seeds Frantisek Cermak and Filip Polasek beat Sergiy and Mikhail Youzhny 6-2, 3-6, 10-4 on Monday. The Ukrainian-Russian duo dropped serve four times and lost in the Match Tie-break after 67 minutes of play.
