Sergiy lost his second-round match at the BMW Open to Italy’s Potito Starace. The match ended with a scoreline of 6-4, 6-2 on Wednesday and lasted one hour and 13 minutes.
Sergiy fell down a break at 3-3 in the first set and the Italian took it 6-4. In the second set, Stako lost serve at 1-1 and at 4-2 down and couldn’t break back as Starace served incredibly well, having a winning percentage of 75 per cent on first serves and 86 per cent on second.
Stako has defeated Denis Istomin to make it through to the second round of the BMW Open in Munich, Germany. The 25-year-old from Kiev was 5-1 up in the opening set when Istomin was forced to retire. He next faces either Jan Hajek or Potito Starace.

Sergiy was beaten 6-1, 6-3 by Portugal’s Frederico Gil in the first round of the Monte Carlo Masters on Monday. The match lasted 68 minutes.

Sergiy is also playing doubles with Mikhail Youzhny. In the first round, they beat Couillard and Lisnard 7-6(1), 6-4. They next face third seeds Jurgen Melzer and Philipp Petzschner.
