Nice: Verdasco Scrapes Past Sergiy

Sergiy split sets with Fernando Verdasco and led by a break in the third set but wasn’t able to close out the second seed Spaniard, losing the quarter-final match in two hours and 21 minutes, 6-2, 6-7(5), 6-4. It was his fourth loss in seven matches since the start of the European clay court season, falling early in Monte-Carlo and Rome.
