No.5 seed in the ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament qualifying draw, Sergiy, failed to reach the second round on Saturday, when he lost to world no.154 Ernests Gulbis in three sets, 7-6 (6), 5-7, 3-6. The two had traded break once in the opening set and Stako won a tie-breaker 8-6 to gain advantage. Gulbis fought back and turned the match around by breaking once in the second and third sets and sealed the win after two hours and 16 minutes of play.
